Thomas Dewey Belcher, 85, of Jeffersonville, died Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Mount Sterling St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by family.
Born April 1, 1940, on Ferrell’s Creek, in Belcher, Pike County, he was the son of the late Marcus and Rushie Belcher. He worked at A.O. Smith, Hobarts and Leggett and Platt, until he retired. He was a member of the Camargo Church of Christ. He was a big time fisherman and fan of baseball, U.K. basketball and football, and Bluegrass music.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Bessie Stalker Belcher; two daughters, Katrina (Walter) Hiler and Yvette (Shane) Rogers; a son, Thomas (Shawn) Belcher; two granddaughters, Andie Rogers and Marissa Belcher; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Rogers and Liam McBeath; two sisters, Glima Gray of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Joann Strickland of Nicholasville; and a brother, Randall of Monticello.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Blackburn; and two brothers, Belville Belcher and Danny Belcher.
Service was conducted Thursday, April 24, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals with Robin Meyer and Wesley Delk officiating. Burial was in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers were Jim Woessner, Harold Hescock, Carter Stacy, Mike Stacy, Bruce Adams and Paul Adams.
