Oudia Bee Stevens Walker, 104

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Oudia Bee Stevens Walker, 104, who departed this life peacefully, Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Ida Davis Stevens. She was a lifelong resident of her cherished hometown, where she became a pillar of strength and love within her community. A proud graduate of Dubois High School, she went on to embrace a fulfilling career as a seamstress, where her skills and dedication were admired by those who had the privilege of wearing her creations. Her sewing talents were only matched by her culinary prowess, she was renowned for her delightful homemade dinner rolls, which brought comfort and joy to family gatherings and celebrations. She was a devoted member of the KEAS Tabernacle CME Church, where her faith and commitment to her community inspired many. She had a green thumb, nurturing an array of beautiful flowers that brightened neighborhoods and brought smiles to those around her. Her love for gardening mirrored her nurturing spirit, as she was often seen as a mother to all in her family, always ready to offer sage advice and a listening ear. Known for her assertive, no-nonsense personality, she was fiercely loving and deeply respected. Her unique ability to balance strength with compassion created an atmosphere of safety and support for those fortunate enough to know her.
Survivors include her cherished daughter, Joanna Harrison; grandchildren, Terence Harrison (Joyce), Tiaa Patton (William), Donald Walker, Victor Thomas (Marcy), Nawasca Franklin (Adrian), Andrea Baker (James), Shatema Walker, Lia Walker and Jamiylah Walker; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews who continue to carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Walker Sr.; sons, Larry Walker, Andrew Walker Jr. and Ronald Walker; siblings, Charles Stevens, Thomas Stevens, Mary Roseberry, Malinda Lisle and Dave Stevens.
She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories woven throughout the lives she touched. Her spirit will forever inspire those she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, strength and kindness will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her.
Service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at KEAS Tabernacle CME Church with Elder Rev. Vincent Farris and Pastor Rev. Lisa Snorton officiating. Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Dave Taul, James Taul, Troy Darnell, Lee Clemons, Leon Walker, Leo Walker, Quinn Stevens, Lamar Gay and Dondry Gay.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Mynhier, Michael Stevens, Jerry Stevens and Alfonzo Walker.
